The Durrës Court has ordered the security measure of arrest in prison for 26-year-old Leonardo Preza, who is accused of raping an 18-year-old Italian tourist on the Durrës beach a few days ago.

The incident occurred on Thursday morning, as the 18-year-old was standing alone on a sun lounger, in front of a hotel in neighborhood no. 13.
"During the night we were with friends and consumed alcoholic beverages. For a moment I left the group and sat on a sun lounger, which was located a few meters away from the hotel. This happened at around 05:30 in the morning on September 5. During this time, a person approached me who physically attacked me and despite my attempts to defend myself, raped me and then left ," the girl is reported to have said in her police testimony.
Meanwhile, footage of the moment when the Italian tourist who was raped in the beach area in Durres talks to 26-year-old Leonardo Preza has also been revealed in the media.
The 18-year-old is seen in the video chatting with Preza, who is also a sun lounger worker, while they are initially sitting on a bench on the beach promenade. They then leave where they were, heading towards the seashore.
Leonardo Preza had a criminal past, having previously been convicted of illegal weapons and theft.
