IKMT action in Theth, disabled resident lies in front of the funeral home:

While IKMT is continuing the action to remove illegally constructed buildings in Theth, one of the residents, a disabled person, lay down in the middle of the road, requesting urgent help from Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci, so that the wooden buildings are not demolished.

He managed to get into the middle of the IKMT's lobby and said that he would rather die than have the wooden houses that he built with loans and debts demolished.

"There is no concrete at all.  I am dead if they destroy me. I am 200 million lek in debt. Please, Edi Rama and Benet Beci, help me."

I call on the state to come and stop, because they are demolishing my wooden houses, taking me out onto the main road. It would be better if they put a sledgehammer on me, than for me to die. Come and see them – they are all made of wood, with loans and debts, and they want to demolish me. Call to Edi Rama, Benet Beci, please, live, so the whole world can see what they are doing. I am dead – 200 million in debt! I will be run over here. They are wooden houses. They said we should build without concrete. Here they are! They want to demolish me. Where should we go? I am dying if they demolish me, I am dying here. Call for help to Benet Beci, Edi Rama – what is this talk, there is no concrete at all” , said the resident of Theth, Bekim Koçeku.

Then his sister spoke up. She said that they built these five wooden houses with loans, and that they will not leave this place, because it is the land of their father and grandfather.

"The isolation tower belongs to our grandfather. We are 'dem baba dem' from Thethi. We neither occupied it nor took it unjustly. They told us to build without concrete - there is no concrete, it is only boards and metal sheets. Look at my brother - without legs, without hands, God killed him. Now the state is killing him too. They have stressed us and made us sad. What do we need this life for - to end up in hospitals? By God, I will die under the turban. I was born once, I will die once,"  said the sister of the resident with disabilities.

We remind you that this Wednesday in Theth, the IKMT action to remove objects placed without permission by residents of the area is continuing.
