Tottenham have secured their first point under coach Roberto De Zerbi, drawing 2-2 at home against Brighton, in the match valid for the 33rd week of the Premier League.
The challenge was broken in the 39th minute, when Pedro Porro headed home a precise cross from Xavi Simons. However, Brighton's response came in first-half stoppage time: Kaoru Mitoma equalised with a powerful shot from inside the area, after an assist from Pascal Gros, to end the first half at 1-1.
In the second half, Tottenham regained the lead in the 77th minute. After a mistake by the visitors in midfield and an assist from Lukas Bergvall, Xavi Simons scored with a beautiful shot from distance, near the penalty area.
However, Brighton did not give up and managed to equalize again in extra time, this time through Georginio Rutter, sealing the final score at 2-2.
Tottenham continue their negative streak, having not won in 15 weeks in the championship. The London team is ranked 18th with 31 points, seriously risking relegation.
