Manchester City have defeated Arsenal 2-1 in a head-to-head clash, fully reopening the race for the Premier League title.
Pep Guardiola's team took the lead in the 16th minute with a solo effort from Rayan Cherki, who finished accurately inside the area. Arsenal reacted quickly and equalized in the 18th minute through Kai Havertz, who took advantage of a mistake by goalkeeper Donnarumma.
The game remained balanced for the most part, with both teams creating dangerous chances. Arsenal came close with Eberechi Eze hitting the post, while City threatened several times with Haaland and Bernardo Silva.
The decisive goal came in the 65th minute, when Erling Haaland took advantage of a chance in the area and sent the ball into the net for 2-1.
In the final minutes, Arsenal increased the pressure in search of an equaliser. Havertz came close in stoppage time with a header that went just wide of the crossbar, while the Londoners won several corners but failed to change the result.
The win gives Manchester City a significant advantage and reopens the race for first place. Arsenal are on 70 points, while City are on 67, but have a game in hand. If Arsenal had won, they would have been crowned Premier League champions.
