March brought a new name to the Albanian National Team. Stavro Pilo, a footballer born in Rhodes, Greece, of Albanian origin, was the new addition to coach Silvinjo's selection.

Albania ended their World Cup campaign unsuccessfully, while Pilo played in both matches in March. He was first brought on from the bench against Poland, and then started in the following match against Ukraine.

After the training camp ended, Pilo reacted publicly for the first time through social networks, evaluating the experience with the red and black jersey:

" First invitation for Albania. The journey to the World Cup ends here for us, but I am proud to be part of this team and hungry for what lies ahead ," he writes.
