Xherdan Shaqiri would be a Kosovo player if FIFA had recognized this country earlier. This is what FIFA President Gianni Infantino himself said in an interview for "FFK Podcast".
" For many players from Kosovo who were born and raised abroad, there have certainly been many different influences and stories.
"As you know, many of them at the time when Kosovo was not yet internationally recognized, played for the Swiss national team, for example Xherdan Shaqiri and others. They were among the best players who could have ever played for Kosovo, but at that time Kosovo was not internationally recognized, " said the FIFA number one.
