Albanian footballers are increasingly climbing the career ladder by becoming part of some of the elite European teams. Years ago we used to enjoy watching these guys play in some foreign championships, but in the last decade we are seeing them become protagonists among the best teams in the world.
It's one thing to perform well and receive well-deserved compliments, and it's another thing entirely to be part of the front page of the biggest national newspaper in Italy or France. The first was Kristjan Asllani, who became the first Albanian on the cover of "Gazetta dello Sport" after his first goal with Inter in the last season, while Armando Broja after the market rumors linking him to Milan.
Definitely pride for anyone and history repeats itself again. Today, the prestigious French "L'EQUIPE" dedicates the front page of its newspaper to the superstar "Dardan", Edon Zhegrova. The Kosovo striker was simply magical last night as Lille defeated Slavia Prague 2-0 to move one step closer to qualifying for the Champions League groups.
Edon Zhegrova is shining more and more and his performances have turned him into one of the best in France. "Dardani" has not only silenced the critics, but week after week is turning them into his fans.
