Granit Xhaka's name was closely linked to Milan in this hot summer transfer window, while in a statement given to the German newspaper "Kicker", Bayer Leverkusen's sporting director, Simon Rolfes, seems to have "closed the door" to the Rossoneri.
" There have been and are no negotiations with Milan for Granit Xhaka. Nor is there any idea of selling him on our part. Granit is a very important player for us ," declared the sporting director of Bayer Leverkusen.
This statement by Rolfe contradicts the one given today by Granit's father, Ragip Xhaka, who told the Kosovar media:
" Milan wants Xhaka. I won't talk about the terms of the deal, the clubs have to find an agreement between themselves. Tare? I appreciate it a lot ."
It remains to be seen with great interest how the transfer market events will unfold, regarding the future of Granit Xhaka.
