It seemed to be close to being finalized, but ended unsuccessfully, Russian

Russian media are continuing to report on the breakdown of the agreement for the transfer of Mirlind Daku from Rubin Kazan to Zenit Saint Petersburg, a transfer that seemed close to being finalized, but ended unsuccessfully.

The former coach of several well-known teams in the Russian Premier League, Rinat Bilyaletdinov, has linked this development to the atmosphere within the Zenit club, specifically mentioning the presence of several Serbian footballers on the team and their possible influence on this decision.

He points out that Daku's behavior during "EURO 2024", where the Albanian striker had insulted Serbian and Macedonian players, may have been a deciding factor.

" There is a Serbian formation in Zenit – Darkusic, Erakovic… Perhaps it is a reasonable decision to postpone the transfer. Unfortunately, the contradictory position cannot be denied. At some point it could play a negative role in the team. That is why the transfer failed. Another thing is why they initiated such a transfer, knowing that it would be a time bomb for the team ," Biljaletdinov told "gazeta.ru".

It is worth noting that Vanja Darkusic, mentioned in Bijaletdinov's statement, represents Slovenia, while Strahinja Erakovic is part of the Serbian national team.
