France are expected to take to the field without Aurelien Chaumeni in the 1/8 final match of the World Cup against Paraguay. According to a report by "RMC Sport", the Real Madrid midfielder has felt muscle discomfort again during the last training session and will not be available to coach Didier Deschamps.
Manu Kone, who is the coaching staff's main choice to fill the void in midfield, is expected to be activated in his place. This is a significant blow for France, as Chouman is considered one of the team's key players.
Reports indicate that the midfielder will be out of action for around a week, thus missing one of the most important matches of the tournament so far.
This is not the first time that Chuamen has been absent during this World Cup. He was also unavailable for the match against Iraq, with Manu Kone taking his place in the lineup.
Despite this absence, Deschamps is not expected to have any other problems in his squad for the match against Paraguay.
