Inter Miami co-owner and English legend David Beckham has been hospitalized. His wife, Victoria, announced this through two posts on "InstaStory".
According to The Sun, Beckham underwent surgery to repair a wrist injury he suffered in a 2003 friendly match between England and South Africa. A metal plate was inserted at the time, but it never fully healed. A recent scan revealed that the plate had become dislocated, causing the 50-year-old former midfielder severe pain.
The operation was successful and Beckham is now recovering, helped by his wife.
However, his presence in Atlanta on Sunday night for the match between the club where Beckham ended his career in 2013 and the one he now owns is in serious doubt.
The American club, led by Lionel Messi and other champions such as Suarez, Busquets and Jordi Alba, will try to achieve success against PSG. The possible absence of Beckham, symbol of the Inter Miami project, would also affect, and above all, on an emotional level.
