Argentine footballer Enzo Pitau collapsed and died on the pitch this week in what has now been confirmed as a heart attack.
Pitau, a father of a young daughter, showed signs of distress before he stumbled and fell to the ground. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where it was confirmed he had suffered a cardiac arrest. He died a short time later.
Enzo Pitau was playing for Don Orione in the second match of the second stage of the Argentine Federativo tournament against Club Union.
Two days before the match, Pitau posted what is now a chilling message on his social media, saying: " Faith and God between them. Today we play with spirit ."
The Chaco football community in Argentina is said to be still mourning the loss of one of their players.
Enzo represented several clubs in Chaco and had short spells with European teams in Italy, Switzerland and Spain.
Enzo's club, Don Orione, posted this message to mark his sad departure from life.
" With deep sorrow, we communicate the death of Enzo Pitau. We are shocked and touched by this loss. We appreciate your solidarity and understanding at this difficult time for our club and Enzo Pitau's family ," their statement said.
