While well-known figures have risen in protest in defense of Zvërnec, Luiz Ejlli has raised a question mark over the way civic causes are handled in Albania and for the singer there are two standards:
"I have nothing against those who react for Zvërnec. In fact, they do very well. I have something against those who react only for Zvërnec," he writes.
According to the singer, the concern lies in the lack of the same commitment to other similar cases that have occurred in the country.
He recalls that the residents of Rrjoll have been facing strong tensions and clashes for weeks, without receiving the same public reaction that Zvërnec is receiving today. "What is the difference between Rrjoll and Zvërnec? Either we react for everyone, or we are using double standards," says Ejlli.
The debate he raises is related to the fact that protests in Albania often remain isolated and fail to translate into a broader civic response. According to him, when a cause is supported only by the affected community, it becomes easier to ignore or fade away over time.
In this context, he also brings to attention other cases such as Fushë-Kruja and Rrjolli, where protests were accompanied by tensions and clashes, but did not receive the necessary support at the national level.
"Albania belongs to everyone. Not just the residents of one area ," he concludes.
