With her voice trembling and tears flowing, singer Big Mama gave a farewell speech at the funeral ceremony for Shpat Kasapi, who passed away suddenly at the age of 40.
In her message, the artist from Tetovo said that "Shpat Kasapi is not dead," as what she left behind will live forever.
"This is not goodbye, friend, but this is see you again," Big Mama said through tears.
She also recalled the beginnings of her artistic life with Shpat Kasapi, when they were children.
"Today I am here on this stage that for both of us was not just a stage, it was the place where we breathed for the first time as children, as artists. We shared dreams, fears and joy. Here we grew our talent, hopes and friendship. Today I am here on this stage that for both of us was not just a stage, but the place where we breathed for the first time as children," declared Big Mama.
She further stated: "Today I have no words to describe the void he left us. He left us too soon, too unfairly, but his memory will live on in our hearts in every melody he sang, in every smile he gave us and in every scene, his name will always be mentioned. Shpat, my friend, we started together from here and today from here I say goodbye. We will miss you at every step, in every moment and memory. But you never died, your voice, your soul, all the love you left behind will live forever. Today from this scene where we started as children, I am leaving you with tears, but I hold you with my spirit. This is not goodbye, my friend, but this is a see you again."
