Nick Cannon, the ex-husband of Mariah Carey, has recently revealed that he has been clinically diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder. In an interview with People magazine, he emphasized that he is working to improve himself.
"I still don't fully understand it, but I've always wanted to be tested for this disorder," he was quoted as saying. During a Thanksgiving charity event in Los Angeles, Cannon added: "There's a lot of labeling, but it's important for me to admit it and say I'm recovering, help me."
Narcissistic personality disorder involves exaggerated feelings of self and constant seeking of attention, according to the Mayo Clinic. This disorder is often treated with therapy and can negatively affect relationships, work and financial matters.
