The Champions League final in Munich was not without its share of drama, and not all of it took place on the pitch. After Paris Saint-Germain's convincing 5–0 win over Inter, attention briefly shifted to a familiar presence off the pitch, Nusret Gokce, better known as Saltbae.
A video circulating online appears to show Saltbae in a heated argument with security personnel outside what was rumored to be a post-match party.
Many people on social media were quick to assume the worst: had the extravagant restaurant owner been excluded from the party?
Some reports even claimed that Saltbae was denied entry because he did not present an official invitation, suggesting that the incident was a form of public reprimand, perhaps for his previous behavior on the field. Memes followed, as did speculation, reviving old debates about celebrity behavior in sports spaces.
But Saltbae himself has since given his opinion, offering a very different version of events.
"There was no organization such as an invitation-only party," he wrote in a statement posted on social media. "We arrived at the hotel after the match on the UEFA bus because thousands of fans were waiting outside. I was just there to take pictures with them."
He added that what appeared to be a confrontation was actually a security guard identified as “Mr. Dorman” directing him to the exit while he waited for his car. “Don’t worry about such small things,” he concluded, countering online speculation, “the rest is artificial intelligence.”
So, was Saltbae really kicked out of the party or was he just caught up in a digital maelstrom of misinterpretations?
