Former England captain and one of the most recognizable figures in world football, David Beckham , will receive one of the most prestigious accolades in the entertainment industry, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame . The official ceremony will take place on June 12 in Los Angeles .
This honor comes in recognition of his extraordinary impact on the promotion of soccer in the United States, as well as his continued presence in sports, business and popular culture.
His wife, Victoria Beckham, and famous actor Tom Cruise are expected to give speeches during the ceremony. The producer of the ceremony, Ana Martinez, praised the former footballer's contribution, emphasizing that:
"Beckham's role in growing the popularity of soccer in the United States and his continuing influence on sports, entertainment and global culture make this honor especially meaningful."
The date of the ceremony coincides with the 2026 World Cup, while the US national team will play its first match in Los Angeles on the same day.
At 51, Beckham remains one of the most important names in English football. He captained England for six years and was part of the Manchester United team that won the UEFA Champions League in 1999.
His career also includes stints at Real Madrid, Milan, LA Galaxy and Paris Saint-Germain, where he ended his playing career in 2013.
Today, Beckham is a co-owner of Inter Miami, a club that gained global attention after the transfer of Lionel Messi in 2023 and which continues to be among the most followed teams in American soccer.
