"We don't have the votes to make her President", Kurti speaks
Vjosa Osmani and Albin Kurti

Kosovo's acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has stated that he has no problem with former President Vjosa Osmani running for power. He stressed that the fact that she is running in these elections is a good thing.

"I know that President Osmani has political ambitions. She wants power. It's completely okay, it's completely legitimate in a democracy. I'm emphasizing again that this is a political competition. It's very good that she has entered the political competition ," Kurti said on KTV's "Interaktiv" show.

Further, Kurti reiterated that they do not have a vote for Osmani in the LVV for president. He explained that the president should be outside the current political scene. He accused the Opposition of using America as a pretext to attack and weaken him, a tactic that according to him has also been adopted by Osmani.

" Bondsteel does not owe anyone because the private properties it has taken for use are already paying rent. For the health of our democracy and a little for the strengthening of the opposition, it is important that they do not go to America, take America and attack the Prime Minister of Kosovo. It seems that they do, Osmani is doing it too. The opposition bloc has a completely wrong working method to take America to hit Albin Kurti. Am I strong enough to take America to hit me to leave a little mark on me? This is very irrational ," Kurti said.

He also spoke about Osman's statement a few days ago during a rally in Pristina, that Kurti had held a meeting in a room for several hours with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and the then EU envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajčák, about which he did not inform the public. Kurti categorically denied such a thing.

"I have never met with the President of Serbia in a separate room, and we have never met with Emissary Lajcak alone. There are always people around taking notes. There are no meetings that we hold and then we don't know what was said there and what was not said by Brussels and Washington because the EU and the US do not trust Emissary Lajcak more than they trust themselves. I have reported several times about the dialogue in Brussels on the basic agreement, on the implementation annex, and there are no questions from opposition leaders that I have not answered. There are no questions that I have had in the meetings that I have had with Osman that I have not answered ," he said.

Regarding the opposition, Kurti said that there is no prime minister who has respected the opposition more.

"They followed me with the police when I was in opposition. They broke into my apartment every year ," Kurti said.
