Political parties in Kosovo have officially launched the electoral campaign for the early parliamentary elections to be held on June 7.
The Vetëvendosje Movement held its opening rally in Ferizaj, where the candidate for prime minister and current prime minister, Albin Kurti, who is seeking a new mandate in government, presented his commitments to the citizens. In his speech, he also referred to the criticisms of the opposition.
"Everything we do is the fulfillment of our commitments. So, all the screams and shouts that you hear from the accusations and attacks against us are nothing but the fulfillment of our commitments ," said Albin Kurti, candidate for prime minister of Kosovo.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo also opened its campaign in Ferizaj. Its candidate for prime minister, Bedri Hamza, declared that the country is tired of political crises, for which he blamed the current government.
"While he fights with everyone, Kosovo stagnates. My friends, Kosovo no longer has time for political drama. Kosovo needs work, Kosovo needs stability," said Bedri Hamza, a candidate for prime minister of Kosovo.
In Pristina, the Democratic League of Kosovo officially launched its campaign, presenting itself as the only political force with candidates for both president and prime minister. Vjosa Osmani called on citizens for a change of political course, while Lumir Abdixhiku presented his governing program.
"There are leaders who live off the crisis, because without a crisis they lose their importance, and there are leaders who do the opposite, build trust in the state," said Vjosa Osmani, presidential candidate.
"The truth that hurts us is that today's Kosovo is a place of great contrasts. A republic blessed with extraordinary people, but tired of the petty politics of a petty mind that wants to seize everything in this country," said Lumir Abdixhiku, candidate for prime minister.
The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo is running in these elections with Ardian Gjini as its candidate for prime minister. The party's leader, Ramush Haradinaj, described him as the right person to lead the country, while Gjini criticized the current government during his speech.
"They don't know what they want to do, because they don't want to win the elections to do anything, but only to win the elections," said Ardian Gjini, candidate for prime minister.
Kosovo will head to the polls on June 7 for early parliamentary elections, which were called after the Assembly failed to elect the country's new president.
