Parliamentary parties present different positions on the epilogue of the case and the next steps
The Constitutional Court is expected to make the final decision on President Vjosa Osmani's decree to dissolve the Parliament, while representatives of the main parliamentary parties have made their expectations public.
LVV MP Vigan Qorrolli said on Debat Plus that his party expects the Court to deem the decree invalid and unconstitutional. According to him, such a decision would pave the way for a new procedure for electing the president by the Assembly.
In the same line of debate, PDK MP Përparim Gruda said that the current Parliament has lost legitimacy and that a solution should be sought through new elections. He expressed his expectation that the Court's ruling would clarify the process of electing the president, but stressed that the country should address itself to the citizens through the vote.
Meanwhile, LDK MP Ermal Sadiku demanded that the presidential decree receive the due evaluation and that the process lead to the dissolution of the Assembly. He said he expects the country to go to elections within the constitutional deadline of 45 days.
The positions of the three parties indicate that the Constitutional Court's decision remains decisive for the further institutional and political course in the country.
