The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has reacted to the recent decision of the government led by Albin Kurti to allocate 100 euros to several categories of citizens in Kosovo.
In his reaction, Abdixhiku considered this measure to be politically motivated, claiming that it aims to exert electoral influence on the eve of political developments in the country.
According to him, such decisions do not solve the real problems of citizens, but are used as tools to maintain power.
"Vote buying, propaganda. Insults, insults, successive crises. Every possible means to stay in power at any cost. No idea. No project. No work. This is not an inflation package. This is a package of attempted vote buying. A belated attempt to cover up the government's failure with the citizens' own money. An electoral insult to the dignity and real needs of the people of the country, of those who leave them as the penultimate in Europe. The penultimate," he writes.
Abdixhiku emphasized that Kosovo needs a different governance approach, where support for citizens, increased welfare, and economic development are not treated as temporary electoral measures, but as sustainable state policies.
He also criticized the socio-economic situation in the country, stating that citizens should not be used for political gain and that the country needs "a new chapter" in governance, focused on dignified wages, investment, and long-term development.
"Kosovo needs a new chapter. A chapter where politicians are not remembered by citizens only on the eve of elections. Where welfare is not distributed as an electoral favor, but is built as a permanent state policy. Where dignified salaries, support for families, economic development, large investments and care for citizens are not means for votes, but an obligation of the Republic. Of a Republic that develops and refuses to be at the end of Europe", he adds.
