The Together Movement will have its candidate in the early elections for the Municipality of Tirana.
This has been confirmed by MP Redi Muçi.
" We have our main support in Tirana. For the sake of truth, the SP suffered losses compared to 4 years ago and a good part of the citizens of Tirana who once voted for the SP have returned their vote to the Together Movement. Tirana is our bastion, we have great support and we will always have an alternative for the citizens of Tirana, despite the fact that campaigns have financial costs and the energy we spend. However, we are ready to jump into the next campaign whenever elections are held in Tirana. We will have our candidate ," Muçi said on A2.
He rejected the idea of a joint opposition candidate in these elections, and stressed that his party will never be positioned to run a Democratic Party candidate.
" Our position is the same as in the May 11 elections, that we do not cooperate with the opposition. We do not become a tool or crutch for a DP figure to replace a SP figure, because this has not brought any good to our country. Being a party of the democratic left, we aim to convince a large part of the electorate disappointed with the SP and why not with the DP. But as for asking citizens for votes to elect a DP candidate, this will never happen ," the MP stressed.
Asked if the leader of the Together Movement, Arlind Qori, would be the potential candidate to run in the elections for the Municipality of Tirana, Muçi replied: " We will discuss this in the party structures when the elections are officially announced. We have not decided yet. It could also be Arlind . "
