The Chairman of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, reacted immediately after the opposition's decision to leave the Assembly hall during the vote on the amendments to the Rules of Procedure.
In a statement to the media outside the Parliament building, Bardhi emphasized that the opposition was against these changes, as the majority had not taken their demands into account.
Finally, Bardhi announced that immediately after the noon session, the DP parliamentary group would convene in an emergency meeting to discuss next steps.
"The Assembly is a constitutional institution where the deputies represent all political forces in their exercise of their functions. They have decided to pass the unilateral and non-inclusive proposal within 24 hours in violation of the procedure provided for by the regulations and the Constitution."
For this reason, our parliamentary group, after giving all the arguments, decided not to get involved in this unconstitutional procedure. We will not leave any empty space belonging to the opposition in the Albanian Parliament. Now we will leave for an urgent meeting with the parliamentary group and we will make decisions on how we will behave in the 17:00 session”, said Bardhi.
