Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi has declared in the Assembly that he will not support the proposal to change the regulation, considering the process one-sided.
Këlliçi ironized the fact that permanent parliamentary committees are being discussed for other issues, while according to him, the majority is avoiding key topics such as organized crime and ties to politics.
The democrat further added that such a commission should be unipartisan, to uncover the truth about political representatives linked to criminal groups in various districts.
"I find it impossible to vote in favor of changing this regulation as long as I do not see a necessary commission for relations with drug cartels and structured criminal groups. It should be a one-party commission, and you are taking revenge on your members and colleagues representing the gangs of the Elbasan, Durrës, Shkodra and Tirana regions. You are taking away the right of Nesti Angoni, who is in your parliamentary group, to be the chairman of a permanent commission," said the DP deputy, among other things.
