Our country is expected to face short-term, but high-intensity storms during Friday.
Meteorologist Tanja Porja said that atmospheric phenomena could affect almost the entire territory of the country. According to her, storms will be created by atmospheric cells, which develop over certain areas and produce the most intense activity there.
"On Friday, we have short-term storms almost throughout the entire Albanian territory. No one can determine it exactly, because they are cells that break off, settle over a locality and there they produce the maximum of their activity," Porja told "A2 CNN".
Meteorology emphasized that the entire territory of Albania remains exposed, but the highest risk is predicted in the central and southeastern areas of the country.
"The central and eastern areas, the southeast, Fushë-Krujë, Tirana, Durrës, Elbasan, part of Librazhd, Pogradec, Korça, Erseka, Devolli are all in a pink spot. We can also include Përmet and Gjirokastra. The entire territory is at risk ," she declared.
Porja explained that, although the storms will last a short time, they can be very intense.
"Fortunately, they are short-term storms, producing extraordinary amounts of rainfall and fairly high wind speeds in 20-40 minutes," the meteorologist concluded.
