Tensions have escalated between protesters and the State Police in front of the Albanian Parliament.
Police are firing water cannons and tear gas to disperse the crowd, while protesters have responded by throwing eggs, tomatoes and water bottles at the blue uniforms.

The clashes began after protesters attempted to break through the police cordon, with the aim of moving towards the Parliament building.
Two protesters are reported to have been injured, and are being transported by ambulance to the hospital.

In today's protest, the "blues" set up two security perimeters, preventing protesters from stationing themselves in front of the Parliament.
The civic protest has entered its 54th day today, and is being held in the last parliamentary session for this session of the Assembly.
