The Socialist Party celebrates today the 35th anniversary of its founding, while Prime Minister Edi Rama, also the chairman of the Socialist Party, organized a rally in "Italia" Square in Tirana, at the same time as the protest that has been organized for 13 days on Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard.
Rama has chosen to open this festive rally, which is more like an anti-rally in the face of the citizen protest demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister, with the former historical leader of the Socialists, the late Fatos Nano.
The broadcast material summarized messages from Nano, who was not only the first chairman of the Socialist Party in 1991, but also became a historic leader of the socialists.
"The Socialist Party expresses to the country, the world and the future that it will fight democratically to remain the country's European political alternative," was one of the messages conveyed on the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Party, referring to Fatos Nano's speech at the First Congress of the Socialist Party in 1991.
In another message from Nano, referring to the period of 1997, it is stated that "we have known how to preserve the best traditions, renew ourselves and change Albania, facing the challenges of development and moving with the times, being the vanguard of Albanian society."
It seems that the Prime Minister has taken care to use the messages and image of Fatos Nano, another leader of the Socialists, in a political situation where he is facing citizen protests, even though many of those who once stood by him in the Socialist Party were removed from this political force after he took control of it.
After the messages conveyed using the figure of Fatos Nano, Blendi Klosi, Secretary General of the Socialists, took the floor at the 35th anniversary of the Socialist Party.
The Secretary General of the Socialist Party, Blendi Klosi, has stated that the political force he is part of has always served Albania.
" We wish that this 35th anniversary will be the 35th anniversary of integration. We are humbled by all the founders, for their work. We have given our unstinting support to the leadership of the SP and Edi Rama, who are leading Albania towards the EU. We are all proud that for these 35 years the SP has served only Albania. That is why we are all here today, so many, so that the other anniversaries will be the European anniversaries of the SP ", said Klosi.
