Meanwhile, a senior White House administration official has provided details on the reported agreement between the US and Iran. The official said the two countries are not yet at the finish line, but are very close to an agreement to resolve the conflict and Washington expects to sign it in the coming days.
The official said the agreed terms meet Donald Trump's main objectives and put him in a very good place in the end, adding that both countries like the text that is in force.
The official said that under the terms of the so-called memorandum of understanding (MOU), the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened and the US would lift its blockade of Iranian ports. Iran's highly enriched uranium would also be destroyed in the country and then taken out of the country, the official said. He stressed that the deal would lead to the dismantling of Iran's nuclear program.
"The Iranians get nothing by signing the Memorandum of Understanding or by the negotiations themselves ," the official said.
The official added that there will be significant sanctions relief based on Iran's performance.
" The more the Iranians perform, the more they can earn. They are economically rewarded for fulfilling their obligations under the deal. So if they deliver the nuclear material as promised, they will get something. If they dismantle their nuclear program or their nuclear facilities, they will get something else ," the official said.
He went on to say that when Israel sees the full terms of the agreement, they will be satisfied with it and the agreement guarantees long-term peace in the region./ Pamphlet
