Thousands of citizens had gathered for the next protest against Edi Rama when some young people, suspected of being sympathizers of the Socialist Party, caused incidents with shouts and provocations towards the protesters.
Moments of tension were recorded this evening during the next protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, where thousands of citizens gathered against the government of Edi Rama.
According to witnesses at the scene, the incident occurred after a group of young people, who allegedly had come from the Socialist Party's 35th anniversary event in Italia Square, approached the protest area and began provoking the crowd with shouts and ironic comments.
The provocations caused an immediate reaction from the protesters, who turned on the group of young people. For a few moments, the situation became tense, while part of the crowd began to chase them towards the boulevard.
However, the young men quickly left the area and there was no physical confrontation between the parties. Thanks to their immediate departure, the incident did not escalate into a conflict.
The event occurred shortly after the Socialist Party's 35th anniversary celebration, held in Italia Square, just a few hundred meters from the civic protest, had ended.
Despite the episode of tension, the protest continued normally, while organizers called on participants to avoid any provocation and not fall prey to attempts to divert the rally from its peaceful character.
This is the 13th day of protests taking place in Tirana, where citizens are demanding the removal of the political caste.
