The Socialists' request for Veliaj's dismissal was based on his absence from office for three months, as provided for by the law "On Local Self-Government".
Thus, the Municipality of Tirana will now enter early elections. Rama himself, on September 11, proposed that Ogerta Manastirliu be the candidate for the municipality of Tirana, describing her as a person that the capital needs more than ever.
But on the other hand, it is also needed for opposition candidates. Dorian Teliti, in direct connection to Klan News, commented on today's events of the Municipal Council, as well as the continuity of this municipality.
Asked if there is any name from the Democratic Party to face Manastirliu, Teliti said that he himself would be willing to participate in the race for the head of Tirana. The democrat further added that his political force has dozens of suitable candidacies to participate in the mayoral race for Tirana, emphasizing that whoever is nominated will succeed.
"On a personal level, I would be ready to take on the Tirana race. If I am ready to be a member of the Municipal Council, I am absolutely ready to be a candidate. But, to ensure that the Democratic Party has dozens of capable, capable, representative candidates who can succeed in this race, who are our colleagues, our friends... To ensure that the Tirana race will be a winning race, based on the decision-making that the Presidency of the Democratic Party and its leadership, Sali Berisha, will make regarding who will represent Tirana," he said.
Although it is not known who will represent the DP in the early elections for the Municipality of Tirana, Teliti assured that he will be at the head of the campaign, regardless of who the candidate is.

We recall that today, Erion Veliaj was dismissed from the position of mayor by a vote of the Tirana Municipal Council. This decision is expected to be passed to the Council of Ministers for ratification, thus paving the way for Tirana's elections.
