The OSCE Presence in Albania has expressed strong concern about the incidents that occurred against journalists during and after the May 11 election process.
The organization emphasizes that media freedom is a foundation of democracy and requires full respect for international standards.
“ The OSCE Presence in Albania expresses its concern regarding the reported incidents against journalists before, during and after the recent elections, including cases of intimidation and obstruction. We emphasize once again the vital importance of media freedom as a cornerstone of democracy and stand ready to support any efforts to respect commitments within the OSCE framework to protect journalists and ensure a safe and open media environment ,” the OSCE said.
The message seems to be directed at the Democratic Party, as the protest that took place after the elections saw strong clashes between MPs and journalists.
