As the protest against the tourism project in Zvërnec continues for the fourth consecutive day, the Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Flamur Noka, has attacked citizens who oppose the investment and those who have come out in support of the cause.
Through a reaction on social media, Noka claims that the opposition to the project is not related to environmental protection, but to political stances against the family of US President Donald Trump and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
" Soros' mercenaries have it with the Trump family, because they don't even care about the flamingos. The Vlora Airport destroys the flamingos, the flora and fauna of that area, but like Europeangreens and Soros, Albania has no regard for the environment and migratory birds. The husband of Rama's trusted minister is an organizer of the protest. Using and instrumentalizing others is Rama's camouflage, who is behind such organizations ," Noka writes.
Further, the number two of the Democrats attacks the Albanian Helsinki Committee and other civil society organizations, accusing them of remaining silent in the face of serious events in recent years.
" For over 13 years with Edi Rama in power, Human Rights in Albania have been systematically violated. A minor like Ardit Gjoklaj was killed, but the Soros Helsinki Committee in Albania was not affected. Klodian Rasha was killed and the AHC did not speak out. The former President of the Republic was kidnapped and they did not speak out. These people have been subjected to atrocities for 13 consecutive years, but the Helsinki Committee has not been affected. Now that Soros attacks President Trump and his son-in-law Jared Kushner, even the mercenaries have become sensitive to the birds ," he writes.
Noka's statement comes as protests against the Zvërnec project continue in Tirana and the Zvërnec area, with citizens demanding the withdrawal of the investment and the protection of the protected area.
