After the Kukës District, the Democratic Party has also appealed the election results in the Berat District.
In both districts, the CEC has certified the election results, where in Kukës the Socialists received 1 mandate and the DP two, while in Berat the Socialists received 5 mandates and the DP 2.
But the Democrats have today appealed the result for the Berat District, claiming that on May 11 there was no electoral process, but an electoral farce.
As in the case of Kukës, where although they won two mandates, in Berat too, the DP claims that there is an alienation of the will of the voters, through pressure, intimidation, use of the administration and vote buying.
Through its legal representative, Franc Nuri, the DP has submitted a complaint to the KAS listing its claims, with the main topic being vote manipulation.
"We have evidence of irregularities and problems in the Voting Centers," the complaint states, among other things, while also listing alleged materials.
The DP is also expected to appeal the election result in Korça, where the Socialists also emerged victorious with 6 mandates, compared to the 4 that the DP received.
In the May 11 elections, the SP received 83 mandates, the DP 50, the PSD 3 mandates, the Mundësia 2, while the Lëvizja Bashkë and Nisma Shqipëria Besë 1 mandate each.
