Former Democratic Party MP Flutura Açka said that the opposition's result in the May 11 elections is shameful, as it enabled Rama to remain in power, even increasing the number of seats in Parliament.
"The structures and the parliamentary group that still exists must analyze why we have given Rama a frightening 83 mandates ," she told "A2 CNN."
The former MP also said that Berisha has the final responsibility, before he leaves he must lead the DP towards democratization. If this does not happen, the DP will return to its bunkerization, with those people who are loyal to Mr. Berisha.
"In his personal battle, Mr. Berisha has won. Even politically. Now it is no longer a group of 10 people, but 42. The question is, is this a power in Parliament, to change, to decide? No! Because they may be his personal loyalists but not an army that bears responsibility and can influence Albanian political life. Together in Parliament they will not influence. This is the saddest thing about this Parliament. Especially since there are expected to be problems. Because as long as Mr. Berisha does not accept the elections, it means that he will not enter Parliament. So, what do we expect...?".
Mr. Berisha, despite the fact that today, he is no longer the chairman of the Party, according to that statute, not according to my wishes, this does not mean that the party cannot enter into a process of reflection, analysis. Mr. Berisha himself can also lead this process. He can even put the party in the elections and those who aspire to be chairman, we can get to know them, see what political project they have and what guarantees they give to the democrats. If this does not happen, the DP will return to its bunkerization, with those people who are loyal to Mr. Berisha... I think that Mr. Berisha also has the final responsibility before he leaves to lead the DP towards democratization", Açka expressed.
