Enkelejd Alibeaj, who ran under the banner of the 'Right for Development' Coalition, failed to secure any mandates, as did Dashamir Shehi. He described the elections as sold out, while blaming Edi Rama and Sali Berisha for this system.
Alibeaj stated that the winners from these elections are Rama and Berisha, while the losers are all Albanians. He emphasized that the leader of the Democrat Party gave 12 mandates to Rama, thus degrading the Democratic Party.
"Everything sold by the actors who created this system, the law in agreement with each other. There are two winners, Edi Rama and Sali Berisha, the losers are the Albanians."
For at least 10 months, since July, when, in open agreement with each other, what called itself the opposition, Sali Berisha gave at least 12 mandates to the table.
Rama received 52% of the popular vote converted into 83 mandates, so 9 mandates more than he should have received. Sali Berisha on the other hand received 33% of the vote, he should have converted into 47 mandates, but he received 50. So 9+3=12 mandates. This electoral system should not have been applied because of the diaspora vote. It is an unprotected vote.
"Political life is not measured only in Parliament. These elections were not free, it was not the free will of the people. I fought my battle so that the DP would not turn into an increasingly wrinkled fortress. As I see it, the DP is a party always on the verge of degradation," Alibeaj told "TCH".
