The recount of votes in Tirana closed on Friday afternoon, while this process did not bring any change to the result regarding the distribution of mandates, or the change of the open list in the names of those who had been declared winners from the first count.
Before the opening of the ballot boxes for Tirana was decided, there were suspicions that the tellers had favored certain candidates, in short, had committed 'vote trafficking'. But even in cases where there were irregularities, they were considered after the recount as human errors, on the one hand saving the tellers from legal troubles and on the other hand dismissing the claims that they had committed 'vote trafficking'.
Keltis Kruja, a member of the DP Presidency, in a post on social media, states that we owe the counters a big apology.
"Now that the Tirana recount is over, we all owe a huge apology to our enumerators, whose work and integrity, intentionally or unintentionally, were called into question."
