The Democratic Party has reacted harshly to the statement of the Serbian Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Snezhana Paunovic, regarding Kosovo, demanding her declaration as "persona non grata" and indictment for inciting genocide.
The DP calls the statement racist, anti-Albanian and contrary to the fundamental principles of human rights.
According to the Democrats, Paunovic's statement, in which she states that "if she were in Slobodan Milosevic's place in 1998, she would have ethnically cleansed Kosovo," constitutes a glorification of the policies of the Milosevic regime during the war in Kosovo.
The Democratic Party writes that the Serbian minister "expresses regret that Slobodan Milosevic failed to expel Albanians from their lands," calling this a stance that incites hatred and contradicts the universal values of protecting human rights.
The DP also criticizes the Albanian government's stance, claiming that it has not reacted to such statements.
"In its official reaction, the Democratic Party strongly condemns the racist and anti-Albanian statement of the representative of the Serbian government, as well as the position of the Albanian government in the face of such inhuman and hate-inciting statements, which contradict the fundamental principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights ," the statement says.
In conclusion, the Democratic Party demands that Snezhana Paunovic be declared "non grata" and prosecuted for inciting genocide, describing these as the only measures that, in its opinion, should be taken against the Serbian minister.
