Meta, Alimehmet and Këlliçi called the bluff, who used the vote

Sali Berisha, given his long experience, was probably the only one among the opposition who knew what the May 11 ballot boxes contained, so he took a firm stance on not recognizing the elections, but at the same time left open the possibility of a recount for the sake of transparency of the process...

For almost 10 days, the CEC engaged with commissioners to recount the votes of the Tirana District, a process that was initiated after the request of two of the KAS members, representatives of the DP, who requested the opening of the boxes.

The decision of the two KAS members came at a time when some of the candidates on the open list of the 'PD-ASHM' coalition raised claims of preferential vote distortions, that is, votes in their personal names.

The first to raise the allegations was Ilir Alimehmeti, the doctor who, from the first count, resulted in the second most votes on the list of the coalition led by the DP. After him was Ilir Meta who also claimed that his personal votes had been stolen. Meta even went a little further by warning that in the next elections he would run alone in the elections, statements that were directly related to the suspicions that the DP commissioners had stolen the votes.

Sali Berisha, given his long experience, was perhaps the only one among the opposition who knew what the May 11 ballot boxes contained, so he took a firm stance on not recognizing the elections, but at the same time left open the possibility of a recount for the sake of transparency of the process.

Berisha was convinced that the votes in the box would not overturn any results, nor would they add any mandates to the DP and its allies in the Assembly, but he let everyone dream and in the end called their bluff.

If we take the cases one by one, we will see that those who took up the battle flag for the recount showed that they either had no idea what the boxes contained, or had fallen prey to a fraud, which commonly occurs in electoral situations.

Ilir Alimehmeti raised allegations that his votes had been tampered with. He even rushed to obtain the footage and, after observing it himself or others, increased the dose of allegations even more, creating the belief that a great injustice had been done to the doctor who is seen as one of the new political figures.

On the other hand, Belind Këlliçi, political leader of the Democratic Party for Tirana, rushed to declare that from the recount of votes this party would receive the 14th mandate in the largest district of the country. He even said it with such conviction that it increased the doses of reactions to Alimehmet and the hope that the doctor would become the new deputy in the Albanian Parliament. Këlliçi asserted with conviction that Agron Shehaj's 'Mundësia' had taken the mandate from the Democratic Party, raising a smokescreen on the role of the counting commissioners, who if you refer to their positions had "betrayed" Berisha's party for Shehaj's.

Likewise, Ilir Meta from cell 313 where he is held by decision of the GJKKO and his PL supporters claimed that his preferential votes had been stolen, and even designated the area, mentioning the Municipality of Kavaja, part of the Tirana district. Meta began to declare that the votes in the box were less than the letters or messages of support he had received during the campaign.

This whole scene lasted 10 days, with Alimehmeti waiting to receive the mandate, Meta to move higher in the open list, Këlliçi waiting for his 14th mandate as a political leader, and so on.

But in fact the recount did not bring any such change.

The DP in Tirana has 13 mandates left and hopes for a 14th were dashed. Perhaps that was enough to show that the political leader of the Tirana District either had the wrong information about what the boxes contained, or they deliberately brought it into the scene, using it in the game between the factions in the DP, the strings of which are pulled by Berisha's office.

Alimehmeti, although he was deducted several dozen votes, as well as Tabaku, who were considered undeserving, continues to hold the second place on the open list and hopes that he will enter the Assembly if there are developments from the closed list. And after the recount, we have a new doctor who uses the language and theses of the 'old' doctor, forgetting even those statements that he would raise his voice for internal analyses in the DP and responsibility for the deep loss.

Meanwhile, Ilir Meta realized that his votes had been counted correctly and perhaps now it is easier for him to understand who among his own people who had 'massacred' his preferential votes might have lied to him, or who the next 'traitor' is. / Pamphlet/
