Prime Minister Rama has reacted harshly to protests against the investment project in Zvërnec, as well as to calls for his resignation.
From Elbasan, Rama expressed that the messages distributed during these rallies, according to him, create a wrong image for Albania and damage the country in the eyes of the world.
He defended the project in Zvërnec, even describing the 4 billion euro investment as one of the largest in Europe in recent years.
Rama also addressed the slogan "Albania belongs to Albanians", used by the protesters, opposing it. According to him, Albanian tradition does not exclude friends, while Albania must remain an open country.
"The project that is being resisted in the most absurd way is an investment of 4 billion euros and is the largest investment in Europe for many years, and we are going to do it like cows? When the people say, "I fill the cup and kick it to the bottom"? Should we show the world a country completely different from what we are? Should we do it like cows by spreading it across all those rivers and canals of social media sludge, all kinds of completely wrong messages where Albanians say what they have never said: "Albania belongs to Albanians."
"Albania does not belong to Albanians, because the home of an Albanian belongs to God and to his friend, and this is what the Kanun says. Albanians are the masters of this land here, but the home is open to all. "Albania belongs to Albanians" reminds one of that terrible slogan of Nazi Germany: "Germany belongs to the Germans". The Germany of the Germans, those who led that nation with that slogan, degraded it and made it the black sheep of the world," said Rama.
