Trial for the "Partizani" affair, Berisha does not go to the first session at the GJKKO

Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, who was to face justice in connection with the "Partizani" affair, did not appear at today's session at the GJKKO.

It is learned that only his lawyer, Genc Gjokutaj, will be present. Also present are his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, and businessman Xhimi Begeja, who is accused of the criminal offense of "Laundering the Proceeds of a Criminal Offense or Criminal Activity" committed in collaboration.

The prosecution is represented by prosecutor Arben Kraja, while Enkelejda Millonai did not appear for health reasons.

During the session, Elsa Ulliri addressed Malltezi:  "You have signed a letter for a summons for today's session, has Berisha been informed?"  Malltezi responded by saying that 'there is no information about this'.
