PS celebrates victory at the Brigades Palace on May 11th...
The Socialist Party celebrated its victory in the May 11 elections this afternoon. Under the auspices of its leader Edi Rama, a celebration was held at the Brigades Palace. But even though it was a holiday, it actually felt more like a party.
The 'leader' took the floor, and in his 55-minute speech, he didn't smile at all. Rama looked gloomy the entire time, while most of the speech focused on the opposition. The other attendees also seemed bored.
Rama did not spare attacks, accusations and insults towards the opposition, its leader and other representatives. He accused them of living in a parallel universe. According to him, for the DP in Albania, the law is a crime, Albanians have been bought and the SP only buys votes and never wins.
" Others do not want to accept the reality of the facts, this has made them chronic losers, while it has left Albania without a challenging alternative. They have been involved for years in the spiral of an absurd war with facts and live in a parallel universe, where Albania that advances is simply propaganda, most Albanians are bought while internationals are almost all sold out. The elections win them more and more deeply, while we steal more and more ," he said.
Rama then directly attacked LaCivita and Berisha, saying that the 'greats' offered Albanians a political corpse with a Trump hat.
" Are we to blame for the greats who are 200,000 votes short of four years ago? This time they offered the Albanians a walking corpse with a Trump hat as prime minister and promised them great magic, like in that children's game 'the donkey flies, flies'... and in the end it didn't fly. We brought the PS to a record number of 856,813 votes - approximately 88,000 more than in 2021 - by quadrupling those 35,000 fewer votes within the country, compared to 2021, abroad. Apart from the 9th mandate of Vlora, which we could have very narrowly won with the Albanians within the country, we won the other 82 mandates here, where we regained the trust of the absolute majority - as all the polls predicted. The PS crossed the 50% threshold, rising 4 and a half points, from 48.7% to 53.2%, "thanks also to a better capillary organization in the territory than any other time ," he said.
According to him, as long as the opposition is caught in the clutches of a "bigwig", there will be no challenging opposition. So, Rama continued his attacks on the opposition leader.
" Unfortunately, Albanian politics will be divided into two parallel universes, our universe where Albania progresses, makes mistakes, walks and falls and grows, strengthens step by step and climbs the stairs to the top in the EU. In that Albania of the minority, the boundary between facts and opinions has been erased and there are 40 people who are just saying things, without hesitation in inventing and accusing without any evidence and diagnosing the people as sick, sold out and scared because the country votes for the Socialist Party. The good news is that the majority no longer trusts them and when they listen to them, they listen to them to pass the time, and the bad news is that this is not going to change. The mentality of doing politics must change. As long as the opposition is caught in the clutches of a bigot who has left no stone unturned, this country will not have a challenging opposition for us, but a disappointing swamp even for its followers who on May 11th stood in "Because we got our votes back; these 200 thousand that are missing are those who stayed home. If it were Luli, he would have failed – it would mean they are dead, " he said.
Rama also stopped at the names that lost in these elections. He "consoled" them, saying that they will continue to contribute to the government and the Socialist Party, promising that they will not be "left on the streets," but that a place will be found for them as well.
" I want to tell those who will not return to Parliament in September that I understand their sadness about the individual competition. There is no individual competition that you can lose without getting bored, even when you play with the children with a ball you have a moment of sadness if you realize that you are no longer the first one and they are no longer the youngest and you beat them. But I assure them that if they see the loss of their job as a new personal and professional opportunity in another job, but in the service of the same common goals, as winners of the historic mandate of May 11, they will not only be useful, but they will enrich their political and professional careers and if they want to return to the Assembly, they can compete again in the future ," he said.
Finally, Rama also touched on the justice system. He did not hide his dissatisfaction, saying that there are many issues that need to be improved, while as for SPAK, he promised to guarantee its independence. / Pamphlet
