Socialist Party MP and chairman of the Laws Committee, Ulsi Manja, has joined the public debate between the Socialists and the leader of the Opportunity Party, Agron Shehaj, asking the latter to account for his assets and submit documentation to the High Inspectorate for Declaration and Control of Assets and Conflict of Interests (HIDAKPKI).
Through a status on social media, Manja accuses Shehaj of double standards, saying that he demands transparency from others, but does not provide clarification about his wealth.
" Cameras in hand live in committees and sessions, supposedly in the name of 'transparency' and the 'fight against corruption'... but when it comes to your accounts, the camera turns off ," writes Manja.
The socialist MP also raises questions about the profits that, according to him, are related to a property in Italy, demanding public clarifications from the leader of the Opportunity Party.
" 12.1 million euros profit within 5 years, for a 251 square meter villa. Are there gold mines under that property, Gone, or something else you haven't told us yet? " he says.
In his reaction, Manja asks Shehaj to submit the documentation to the HIDAKKI and prove the legality of his assets.
" Submit the papers to the HIDAKKI. Prove the legality. Turn on the camera for yourself, Gone, not just for others ," writes the socialist MP.
At the end of the reaction, Manja declares that, until clarifications are provided, Shehaj's claims for transparency and the fight against corruption remain, according to him, only a political show.
