After the tributes held at the "Petro Marko" Theater in Vlora, family, friends, colleagues, citizens and representatives of institutions accompanied the 40-year-old journalist, who tragically lost his life after a four-wheeled motorcycle accident, to his final resting place.
Journalist Enrik Mehmeti has been escorted to his final resting place, amidst the pain of his family, friends, colleagues, and all those who knew and appreciated him over the years.
Earlier in the day, tributes were held in his honor at the "Petro Marko" Theater in Vlora. Dozens of citizens, colleagues, relatives and representatives of institutions paid their last respects, while Prime Minister Edi Rama also attended the ceremony, expressing his condolences to the family.
Enrik Mehmeti tragically lost his life after an accident with a four-wheeled vehicle (ATV) in the Porto-Nova area, near Vlora. The news of his passing caused great sadness in the coastal city and the journalist community.
Only 40 years old, he left behind two children and a career built with dedication in journalism. For years, he reported from Vlora on the most important events, chronicles, social developments and tourism, earning the respect of his colleagues and the trust of the public.
His journey towards journalism began early. In 1997, when he was just 11 years old, he joined the "Alba" missionary camp as a translator, an experience that, as he himself has said, influenced his choice of the profession that would accompany him throughout his life.
Beyond his profession, Enrik Mehmeti was a man devoted to his family. He lived between Albania and the United States of America, never ceasing to be close to his birthplace and his passion for journalism.
With his funeral to his final resting place, Vlora bid farewell to a journalist who for years was the voice of the city's events. The memory of Enrik Mehmeti will remain with his family, friends, colleagues and all those who were lucky enough to know him.
