In his speech at the National Assembly of the Democratic Party, Chairman Sali Berisha said that the party needs renewal.
In his speech, Berisha emphasized young people and women and girls and said that the DP needs to be renewed and completely reorganized.

The DP needs a complete reorganization to be renewed. The American Institute has prepared a detailed platform for renewal and we will respect it in detail. In this renewal we will do everything, to open the party at all levels, recognizing our defects and problems. We must immediately redefine the role of young people and women in the party. Young people are the most precious thing in the DP. Women are the majority, not only numerically, but also intellectually of the nation today. There is an extraordinary potential to be put at the service of society. The last kilometer is not easy. In a marathon, everyone knows what the weight of the last kilometer is. The DP has been the locomotive of integration processes and we are still here.
"The IBAR and European Parliament reports also raised issues that we have denounced and raised. We remain undefeated in the effort for Albania's integration into the EU. It is our polar star. This integration must be based first and foremost on merit. Countries seeking integration are not required to have laws and demands that violate citizens ," Berisha said.
He also accused political opponents of trying to weaken the opposition, but stressed that these attempts have failed.
"This party cannot be bought, sold and never defeated," declared Berisha, adding that the Democrats are "guardians of pluralism and the values of freedom."
