Excerpt from the interview:
What is your most beautiful memory?
Tinka Kurti: In general, I remember a lot, but I remember most of all Christmas Eve, when I went to the embassy (a concert was held at the Russian embassy). I was stunned. I saw the most extraordinary thing; it was a concert… like an annual concert. I have the most beautiful memories with Russia, not with America. America is a hooligan country.
What is the role you felt the most?
Tinka Kurti: I really felt all the roles. There were extremely good actors. It was a great coincidence of mine: in a cafe I see them talking to Kristaq Dhamo and I ask my nephew: “What are they doing there?”. “They have gathered because they want to make a film”, he told me. He tells the director: “I have Tinka here”. I have been lucky enough to act in films with Kadri Roshi and many others. I have made many corrections and many times I have said that I will repeat it.
Beyond all the roles, what are the biggest sacrifices you've made?
Tinka Kurti: I spent the whole time at the "Migjeni" Theater, it was a miracle. We performed one show 39 times.
What is the greatest pain you have gone through in silence?
Tinka Kurti: It hasn't been easy being an actor. I left my children at home, my little son, and my mother-in-law said: "If I don't behave well with my son's daughter-in-law, then she has the right to leave and take the child too." I found support in a very honorable family. Life has had trials and tribulations, but I don't regret it. I am very happy with the family I married into and with my husband. I had a 3-year-old son and I felt sorry for that child. They were very artistic people and were in a much better economic situation than my family.
What is your message for young artists?
Tinka Kurti: There are young artists, but they don't have that great desire to sacrifice. I left my family, my child, to play a role. However, I have had much better partners than myself.
If your life were a movie, what title would you give it?
Tinka Kurti: Go on stage and be silent behind the scenes!
Were you afraid of oblivion as an artist and as a person?
Tinka Kurti: I expect you to hold a suitable ceremony for me.
