Today marks the first night of the Albanian Radio and Television's Song Festival, FEST 64, which will be broadcast for four consecutive nights on the Albanian Radio and Television. The festival remains the official mechanism for selecting the song and artist that will represent Albania at Eurovision 2026.
During these nights, participating singers will perform their songs in front of the public and a professional jury. The audience will have the opportunity to vote via SMS, while the final result will be determined by the combination of the public's and the jury's votes.
Citizens from Albania can vote via telephone. According to the festival regulations, 50% of the final result will be based on public votes, while 50% on the jury's evaluation, which will certify the winner.
The festival's author, Belioza Çoku, explained the voting method and the distribution of votes between the public and the jury, emphasizing that the process will last throughout the four nights of the festival.
At the end of FEST 64, the singer and song that will represent Albania at Eurovision in 2026 will be announced. The festival is expected to be followed by the public in Albania and Kosovo, while the final result will depend on the audience vote and the decision of the professional jury.
