A serious incident has occurred in the Brooklyn area of New York, where the superintendent of an apartment building was killed after trying to fight off someone who was stealing packages in the building's lobby.
According to information, the victim is 41-year-old Burim Havolli, a Kosovar citizen.
After authorities were notified, the 41-year-old was rushed to Kings County Hospital in critical condition, NBC reports.
Police announced that Havolli could not survive his injuries and died in hospital.
According to neighbors, Havolli was the building's supervisor and was attacked while trying to stop a suspect from stealing packages from the lobby.
The altercation that led to Havoll's death has concerned residents of the area, who say the area is becoming increasingly dangerous. Meanwhile, the victim's family was shocked that their beloved worker, who was respected in the building and neighborhood, was killed while doing his job.
Police are investigating the motive behind the deadly attack.
