The repentant justice minister, Artan Tafani, has continued his testimony before the Special Court Against Organized Crime and Corruption (SCOC), revealing new details about the execution of Albi Bashaliu.
He has explained how this murder was organized and carried out. According to him, the murder was done as an "honor" for Lorenc Lala, with the consent of Laert Haxhiu, and as revenge against rivals.
"I was staying with Laerti because the police were looking for me. We rented a house in Astir, in the name of a friend of Laerti's girlfriend. After the murder of Elton Mermal, we also killed Albi Bashaliu," Tafani confessed.
Tafani said that this murder would be done in honor of Lorenc Lala.
"We agreed that if he agreed, then it would be done (said Laertes). The murder would take place in Peqin and the purpose was to avenge his sons," the repentant justice minister testified.
Tafani also explained details of the 'operation'.
"The victim was in a car selling chickens. I rented a car on the Elbasan road and went to Gjoçaj in Peqin to meet the owner of the problem, a boy I picked up in Rrogozhina. He would show where Albi Bashaliu's house was and where he drank coffee. This boy's father had been killed ," said Tafani.
