Edison Haxhiaj, one of the three people identified in the serious incident that occurred in the village of Larushk, where Gentian Bejtja was killed, has been sentenced to 2 years in prison.
Bejtja was executed on March 15, 2024 in the vegetable garden, while he was accompanied by his wife and children.
In this criminal incident, Haxhiaj was accused of "Providing the conditions to commit murder."
The prosecutor in the case, Ritvan Suka, during the reading of the plea, asked the court to declare Haxhiaj guilty and sentence him to 5 years in prison.
But due to the shortened trial, the court reduced the sentence, ultimately sentencing Haxhiaj to 2 years in prison.
While the other two people, Ilirjan Beqaraj alias Brahimi (arrested) and Flodian Plaku from Vlora (wanted), are accused of "Premeditated murder" committed in collaboration, "Unlicensed possession of firearms" and "Forgery of a Kosovo passport".
The process against them has been separated from Haxhiaj, continuing with ordinary trial procedures.
Haxhiu is accused of having made the "Golf 7" car available to the group that committed the murder of Gentjan Bejtjat on March 15, 2024, a car that was used to remove the perpetrators from the place where they burned the "Land-Rover" car.
The "Golf 7" vehicle was seized by the police as Edison Haxhiu took it to be washed at a car wash located behind TEG.
The car served as a "treasure" for the police, in which biological traces of the sweat of Flodian Plaku, a Vlora native who was in the group of hired shooters, were also found.
For the Tirana police and prosecutor's office, the murder of Gentjan Bejtja is closely linked to his plans, Ervis Martinaj and former SP MP Arben Ndoka, to kill the brothers Durim and Valter Bami as well as their friend Marklen Haka.
