The Criminal Court of Albania has left in force the security measures of "prison arrest" for 9 people arrested in Albania as part of four criminal groups involved in international drug trafficking. They are accused of trafficking narcotics, mainly synthetic drugs, destined for Finland.
The operation was carried out following a collaboration between SPAK and Finnish authorities, as part of a wider international investigation that also involved Spain and the Netherlands.
The security measures were previously given in absentia, but were reconfirmed this Thursday in the presence of the suspects:
-Dorjan Luzaj
-Geraldo Seferaj
-Elton Myftari
-Elton Ceiling
-Erind Teneqexhiu (alias Agalliu)
-Kel Qevani
-Ledion Hoxha
-Loyal Sparta
-Altin Musta
The 9 arrested had various roles in organizing and carrying out drug trafficking, using Albania as a coordination base and exploiting logistical connections with other European countries.
Meanwhile, two leaders of these criminal networks in Albania are still wanted, one of whom is suspected of having fled the country.
